I would like to make a quick announcement regarding Mangez Bien blog! Drumroll please….
My boyfriend, Taylor, came into town this past weekend and it was great to have him here and enjoy the holiday season together. One thing I love to do with him is get in the kitchen and cook because he enjoys cooking just as much as me. Even though we both want to take over in the kitchen because we’re type A personalities, it’s still fun and romantic to cook and create something delicious together. I always try to get him to eat healthy with me and sometimes it can be a real task; however, he really enjoyed my fettuccine with sautéed chicken, mushrooms and asparagus. It’s so delicious that it doesn’t even seem healthy anymore.
Last night I had some of my friends over for dinner and Christmas movies. Lately, we’ve been planning a big all-things-Christmas agenda to get into the holiday spirit. Christmas movies are an absolute must and what’s better than homemade tortilla soup to go along with them? My tortilla soup is effortless, comforting, and full-flavored!
Hummus is one of my all-time favorite snacks to munch on. Whether it’s with veggies or warm pita chips, hummus is just amazing. I had a few of my girlfriends over the other night and decided I would make a homemade garlic and lemon hummus to serve as an appetizer with warm, toasted pita bread. It so super simple to make!
Happy Monday, everyone! Can you believe Thanksgiving is this Thursday? I feel like just the other day I was trying to figure out what I wanted to be for Halloween and now I’m planning a big Thanksgiving dinner menu. Nonetheless, I am super excited because there’s nothing like the holiday season and spending time with family and loved ones. Before we chow down on turkey and stuffing, we can keep things delicious and healthy leading up to the big day.
It’s the holidays, so everywhere you look and turn are sweet treats and tempting seasonal cookies, chocolates, and cakes you would love to dig your face into. Let’s not throw away all of the hard work of eating healthy and being fit this holiday season. Indulge in my nutty, milky, good for you cookies and you’ll forget about all of the peppermint bark, fruit cakes, and egg nog…. hopefully.
Culinary school is really kicking into high gear these days! Every day is more fast pace and more hectic in the kitchen. Even though it can get a little crazy and overwhelming at times, I am really enjoying the recipes we have been creating while learning new things about myself and how I can really perform well under pressure. Since the holidays are almost here, this delicious recipe with wheat berries, pablano peppers and pecans will make one of the best side dishes.
